Taking Watch Retailer to the 21st Century

What happens when the leading retail jewelry software provider teams up with the industry’s premiere retail measurement service? The results are “radioactive”!

(Boston, MA) - It’s been two years since ASC and LGI first formed a strategic alliance, the first of its kind in the jewelry industry. According to LGI’s Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Talbert “ASC was the first software company LGI selected because of the outstanding reputation ASC had in the industry and the large number of luxury and guild retailers who use ASC software. This was a logical first step for LGI to get really important retailers subscribing to Time Tracker. Also, ASC was very helpful in working with us to make this happen.”

Retailers provide the critical "raw material" for the measurement service by allowing LGI to extract point-of-sale watch transaction data from systems such as ASC’s Craftsman Retail Management software. The data then gets aggregated with data from thousands of stores across the country. The result is powerful market data that helps brands and retailers gauge product penetration, overall product performance, distribution, promotion effectiveness, and price sensitivity.

ASC client, Alex Rysman of Romm Jewelers (Brockton, MA) who subscribes to LGI’s Time Tracker says, “I am thrilled with LGI Time Tracker. It takes watch retailing into the twenty-first century. I can see trends in the marketplace. I can see holes in my merchandise. Instead of just looking at the experience of a single store, I can compare my watch sales to the entire marketplace. If knowledge is power, this is radioactive.”

ASC and LGI Network began their partnership in April 2003 – and to date 32 ASC clients have gotten onboard with LGI’s Time Tracker including industry leaders such as Tourneau, Borsheim’s, Lux Bond & Green, Hyde Park Jewelers, Lee Michaels and Tivol.

Finding innovative ways to empower retail jewelers is nothing new for ASC, who recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. According to Barry Kraft, Executive Vice President of ASC, “We are committed to providing our clients with the best technology and data available and our pioneering partnership with LGI is an example of continuing to achieve that goal.”
